QOD

This blog purely for my own amusement. I like to start the day with a quote, be it amusing, inspiration, or simply something that caught my fancy.

On occasion, I might also include some commentary on the day's crossword puzzle that is published in the Los Angeles Times.

Hahtoolah, I just came to your web site because I noticed you had recently changed your name.(somewhat)... also I couldnt make head or tail out of your recent avatar.

Munshi Premchand, is probably the most important author who wrote in Hindi, prob. in the early 1930's. Altho' I am Indian, I learnt Hindi as a second language, and was never proficient in it - and since it depreseed my GPA's - I hated the language.'Munshi' is most certainly a title - more as in accountant or clerk or 'writer' - as in account writer. His most famous short story is 'Namak ka daroga' - literally 'salt guard' - a guard enforcing the custom excise duty on (common) salt - prevention of the smuggling of - something about the penalties of being honest.

Love your website.
